Meanwhile,
on the contrary of overwhelming reactions of all feminists and
humanists people towards the movie 'Pink', my question is what's so much
new (content wise) in this movie than 1982's Tapan Sinha's film 'Adalat
o ekti meye'? Its the problem of our mindset that we love to blame our
society first before to find ourselves what's new we can do?
So, what's next? what's new can be done to mobilize our
society overcoming its inertia? Why the so called intellectual directors
can't make film with the lives of acid attack survivor 'Reshma Qureshi'
or gang rape survivor 'Sunitha Krishnan' who is now a rescuer of
thousands like her? Why not the directors showcase the capabilities of
real life women to survive themselves than caring a shit about society?
After watching this movie I am sure social media will be over-flooded by
blame game of what's wrong and what's right in the society than
conveying the message 'do it now!' By natural choice somehow, we women
are born lazy! We think that one imaginary prince charming, the people or the society will rescue us! If
at least 90% of the women viewers of this movie at least feel the
urgency of learning the martial art themselves and sending their
daughters to learn a martial art instead of learning music or dance or start training their sons to do the households, if
at least 50% of the women viewers learn to discover her in laws from
different angles than suffering from insecurity and 'year long mindset
that in laws are just out of this planet', if 20% of the women viewers
at least will think incapability of their husbands for doing household
works is not perfectly okay, 10% of women viewers will not judge other
women by their profession, clothes, addictions and so on, then it would
have been meaningful to make this film other than making business profit
by itching people's sentiment! Questioning are done decades before, Its
time to try something new. Its high time for act! I am sure that biopic
of 'Reshma Qureshi' or 'Sunitha Krishnan' is at least worth changing of
50% people's mindset than showing finger to Society. Society is built
of us! Rape is not about just getting sexual pleasure out of one's
consent but about our mindset of 'chalta hai'. Women are made for taking
care of family 'chalta hai' becoz it has been done for years..'chalta
hai'. Men will be naturally busy for their work or their 'outside
family' life..'chalta hai'. Girls should not be allowed to touch the
'gods' during their menstruation but Devi Kamakhya's cloth for menstrual
use should be considered as 'holy cloth'..'chalta hai'. Gold jeweleries
are essentials for wedding..'chalta hai'. Wasting money on feast for
wedding when people are dying out of hunger..'chalta hai'. Spending so
much money on the occasion of 'Durgapuja', 'Eid', 'Christmas' etc. no
matter whether millions of people die out of mutual hatred and
poverty..'chalta hai'. Trying to act smart by talking in 'English'
because of a feeling of inferiority about own language or about own
educational background not having a stamp of 'english medium' in
subconscious mind..'chalta hai'. Thinking something new, coming out of
this 'chalta hai', is not breaking the tradition but trending a
tradition whereas to continue that 'chalta hai' is shaming the so called
'tradition'. 'Pink' was a great disappointment for me. It did not lit
the fire of womenhood over conquering the so called 'fate' and 'chalta
hai' in it! Everybody can question but doers are few! Acts speak louder
than words! Its high time to expect some films from 'intellectual
directors' which will motivate people to do something rather than to
question. Questioning without trying hard to find the answer is just the
law of physics, without displacement work done=0
